Tour Details & Itinerary

This is a Private half-day tour, that can be booked for up to 10 passengers. For larger groups, please send us an email. You can start the tour at 9:00 AM in the morning and finish at 1:30 PM, or start at 10:00 AM and finish at 2:30 PM.

Starting our tour at Syntagma (Constitution square), next to the parliament building and its famous guards, we head for the Jewish Museum of Athens (entrance fee not included – it is 6 Euro per adult and 3 Euro per student). We walk in the alleys of Plaka, passing the ancient Agora, where the ancient Synagogue once was, and heading for the eternal Jewish neighborhoods, Monastiraki, Thissio and Psiri…
Among our walks and stops in the winding alleys of those charming neighborhoods, you will see the houses and shops and feel the ambiance of some of the oldest regions in the city of Athens. You will hear the history of the Jewish population in Athens and Greece and you will see old photographs of the places we visit, making it easy for you to visualize the everyday life of the Greek-Jews, on those very alleys. We will visit the old Jewish market, still named after the Jewish family who opened the first antique shop there. We will of course visit the Synagogues of Athens, and the Monument of the Holocaust.
The classical Athenian archeological sites are also included! We will pass by some Roman monuments, the remains of the Ottoman Mosques, Byzantine churches and beautiful neoclassical constructions of the 19th century.

Furthermore, we can stop for coffee under the Acropolis, where we will rest, getting the best view of the Parthenon.
This unique Jewish Walking Tour in Athens really does include ALL the Jewish sites of the city, plus many important non Jewish sites. All in one morning!
There is always the possibility (optional) of ending the tour with a nice Mediterranean kosher lunch of traditional Sephardic recipes and some new ones by the Rabbi’s wife.

Cancellation Policy

PEACE OF MIND - FLEXIBLE RESCHEDULING

The Cancellation Policy below is valid for reservations that are made after June 1st 2020.

The payment is REFUNDABLE up to 31 days before the tour departure date. In this case, a small handling fee of 4% of the payment (received until that time) will be kept for covering operational expenses (credit card commission, etc.)
From 30 days up to 22 days before the tour departure date, the cancellation fees will be the 15% of the Total amount (there will be an 85% refund).
From 21 days up to 15 days before the tour departure date, the cancellation fees will be the 30% of the Total amount (there will be a 70% refund).
From 14 days up to 8 days before the tour departure date, the cancellation fees will be the 50% of the Total amount (there will be a 50% refund).
From 7 days up to 48 hours before the tour departure date, the cancellation fees will be the 75% of the Total amount (there will be a 25% refund).
Less than 24 hours before the tour departure time, or in case of non-show, the cancellation fees will be the 100% Total amount (no refund).
In the case of an EMERGENCY, like a serious illness and hospitalization of one of the passengers, the cancellation fees may be reduced or waived (for consideration, the official documents from the hospital will need to be presented).
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have developed a Peace of Mind Policy allowing the RESCHEDULING for tours departing from July until December 2020. For these tours, it is possible to reschedule without penalty up to 8 days before the reserved date and time. It will be possible to reschedule the same tour on any other departure date within 2020 or 2021.
